Material
I work with 960 sterling silver Metal clay as well as 925 sterling silver sheet and wire.
Metal clay is a made from powdered metal mixed with water and an organic binder. During firing, the binder evaporated /is burned away and the metal particles sinter into a solid form.
While traditional 925 sterling silver contains 92.5% silver, 960 consists of 96% silver and 4% copper and other alloys.
Care
Sterling silver will tarnish over time. To prevent tarnish…
wear your jewelry often. Your skins natural oils will help keep your jewelry shiny.
Don’t wear your jewelry in the shower, or the swimming pool. Humidity can speed up the oxidation process which produces tarnish.
Store jewelry in an air-tight container to protect from oxidation and humidity.
To clean your jewelry, wipe it gently with a clean microfiber cloth.
